Anyone With An iPhone In Syria Gets Prosecuted

Written by on Sunday, December 4th, 2011

Scary as it sounds but the Syrian finance ministry would seriously be implementing it. iPhone are not allowed in the country or if anyone caught of having one are threatened of confiscation or prosecution. Simply, Syria is not at peace these days as protesters are all over the streets.

Media men were not allowed to enter the country that’s why protesters used their smartphones, specifically their iPhone to cover what’s happening. There has been photos and videos shared by people and it seems that the Syrian government is not okay with it. They want to isolate the happenings. This is a warning to anyone who owns an iPhone is Syria as per order of the authorities. The order also includes prohibition of the import of iPhones to the country. Basically the ban is on iPhones alone, other smartphone are not included.

This is just one of the numerous turmoils in the middle east and its end not yet known. “It’s feels great to be living free!”says Chris Bech, an expat in the Philippines and has been enjoying the country’s democracy. “I wouldn’t want to be in that kind of place, I pity those who are trapped,” Chris Bech added.
