It wasn’t a great weekend for the Chicago Bears. They lost their NFC championship game against the Green Bay Packers Sunday with the score of 21-14 in favor of the Packers. They were unfortunate that they quarterback Jay Cutler was injured at the first series of the third quarter and wasn’t able to play afterwards. Though it has been hard without Cutler, the team continued their best but it was just not enough.
Because of the loss, there has been speculations that team will not extend their coach Lovie Smith’s contract. However, their general manager Jerry Angelo cleared everything out that Smith’s extension is currently on process. “We very much want to extend Lovie, and the job that he’s done and the staff. Our focus, our intent is to extend Lovie, we wanted to wait until the season is over. That will be part of the business at hand in the next several weeks,” Angelo said.
So the speculations will stay as speculations as it not true at all. Smith is very happy with the team and would be willing to coach them. ‘I love being the head football coach of the Chicago Bears every day. I’ve been here and hope to be there for many years to come,” Smith said.
The Bears were almost there but its just not meant to happen this season. There would Super Bowls in the future and they have all the chances to make it up. This year’s Super Bowl will be live at the Cowboys Stadium in Arlington, Texas. The Pittsburgh Steelers would be the team that the Green Bay Packers to face. Super Bowl 2011 live stream would be available for those who are far from Arlington and only got the internet as their source of the coverage. Fox would be the official network to cover and they would surely be delivering live updates for it.
