Free Wifi at Starbucks Starting July 1. A few days from now, on July 1, Starbucks will be offering free Wi-Fi service nationwide all over the US of A. No registration or opening of account is required and it will be a Wi-Fi all you want thing.
This move by Starbucks is a move to join the bandwagon of offering free Wi-Fi in its stores. Other stores that has this type of free service is McDonald’s that rolled out free Wi-Fi last December to all of its chains worldwide. Panera Bread also has the same.
Both giant stores McDonald’s and Starbucks rely on AT&T’s wireless data network to serve free Wi-Fi connection. Often criticized for its poor service, it actually is one of the largest Wi-fi hotspot providers in the US.
Starbucks was one of the pioneers in Wi-Fi access services in the country. They used to be with T-Mobile but now they are partnered with AT&T. After this change, Starbucks visitors no longer have to live up with free two hours of internet. After July 1, they can access the internet all they want.
